Carl Jung & Buddhism On The Unconscious
What is the unconscious and do you really have one?
Jungian psychology and the Yogācāra school of Buddhism both investigated the depths of the human psyche. Both proposed the existence of a hidden layer beneath our everyday conscious mind. In the way they understood this hidden (unconscious) mind, Jung and the Buddhists agreed on some essential points, but not on all.
Both the similarities of their views and their differences give us fascinating insights into the functioning of our own psyches.
